Check out your snoring pattern and see where you belong!

Check out your pattern of snoring and see where you belong!

(Dr. Lee in her treatment with a needle-pricking therapy into sinuses of a patient)

The Level of Snoring

Stage 0: Clear inhaling with no sound during a deep sleep - Healthy

Stage 1: Slight snoring at the beginning of a deep sleep - Good

Stage 2: Periodical snoring - Slightly blocked sinuses

Stage 3: Repeat loud and soft snoring Heavily congested sinuses

Stage 4: No snoring, but breathing through the mouth - Worse than Stage 3

Stage 5: Sleeping with an open mouth

Stage 6: Possible sleep apnea syndrome

Stage 0 indicates healthy state of the sinuses. Stage 1, which exhibits slight snoring in the begging of sleep is considered to be in a good state. Stage 2 indicates a partial blockage somewhere in the paranasal sinuses. In stage 3, it exhibits the alternating pattern of loud and soft snoring, caused by more blocked sinuses.

People who belong to stage 4 may not have loud snoring, but mouth breathing is being carried out in a subtle manner. No one hardly recognizes the seriousness of the condition, but this could be more devastating than snoring. The sinuses are more blocked than the previous stage. If the sinuses become more obstructed than stage 3, nasal breathing becomes more difficult, leading the mouth to open. Breathing through both mouth and the nose does not vibrate the uvula. Subtle mouth breathing does not create enough negative pressure to move the uvula to generate sound. In some cases, people inhale through the nose and exhale through their mouth, making it difficult to define it as snoring, however, the blockage is more serious than the 3rd stage. Feeling dryness in the throat, lips, or mouth after waking up, or soreness in the throat, or drooling marks mouth breathing. People who frequently suffer from the following symptoms should look into this matter carefully: sore throat, tonsillitis, slight cough, bronchitis, laryngitis.

At stage 5, people, whose sinuses are almost completely blocked, complain fatigue after waking up. Their mouth is opened during their sleep and the uvula vibrates over night. At this stage, people begin to think the snoring could be the underlying reason for the tiredness.

Dr. Lee's Sinus School: Life in Eco-Village

Dr. Lee's Sinus School

Today let me tell you a bit different story from my medical life.
You know I live in an eco-village. It's been 6 years since I left Seoul, the biggest city
in Korea. I guess it must be one of the top buisest cities in the world as well.

Spring has come. It is so beautiful and people are busy with farming.

Village people are fertilizing the ground.

His name is Mr. Jeong. He helps us farming a lot.
This year, we are going to do permaculture.

Now we are finally watering the fields. The man who is watering
looking at the camera is Mr. Kim. He is a teacher ( we call him guidance) at the school
located in the village. It's an alternative school built by village people.

The Eco Village Where I live: Dr. Lee's Sinus School Diary

Introducing the seonae Village

Seonae Village – the village where people love human beings, nature and Heaven
The Seonae Village is the eco-community under cultivation by those wanting to heal their minds. At present, there are currently 12 eco villages around the world, with the oldest eco village being in South Korea:   Gidaeri Seonaeville.
The meaning of Seonae Village is a village that loves “Seon”.
The shape of Chinese character, Seon, signifies the co-existence of human beings and mountains; here the mountain signifies nature, the Universe and, furthermore, everything. We can say Seon is the condition where humans, nature and Heaven communicate and are harmonized with each other.
Consequently, we can define Seonae Village as the village where people love human beings, nature and Heaven.

Spring Has Come to Our Eco-Village! (Sinus School by Dr. Lee Woo Jeong)

Spring Has Come to Our Eco-Village!

Hello, buddies. Spring has come to our village. Everybody's busy planting seeds.
Let me give you a special guided tour to our eco-villlage.

We are digging the ground in order to plant some trees. They are fruit trees so that we can eat when they grow up!

In a yellow handcart, you can smell beautiful scent of natural fertilizer.

Kids in the village also help planting trees.

And they are baby soybean sprouts! Their leaves are heart shaped.

Here is a lists of seeds we are going to plant in our garden. They are going to be cabbages, pumpkins, crown daisies, chicories, celeries and so on. Hmm....yummy~~~

To the patients visiting my clinic, I recommend vegetarian diet. Many of patiens have nasal problems due to their weak immune system. Thus, strengthening one's immune system help heal their sinusitis, rhinitis, sleep apnea or many other nasal problems. In order to strengthen your immune system, the best and simpe way to do at home is to change your way of life style. Come back to vegetarian diet and brown rice. Brown rice is really good to your body.
