Dr. Lee's Sinus School: Stay & Healing Program

Dr. Lee's Sinus School: Stay & Healing Program

Hello, I am Dr. Lee, Ceo of Cosoom Clinin (Korean Medicine Clininc Specialized in ENT treatment)
As the clinic is located in the south-end of Korea, patients ask if there is any places to stay while
they receive treatment. My answer is, Yes! Don't worry about accomodations.

One of the reasons I came down to Goheung from Seoul is to let people know the importance of
environment where you live. Many of my patients did not suffer from rhinitis or sinusitis when
they were little. 10 to 20 years ago, most of my patients came to me to treat sinus infection.
Yet, now many of them are suffering allergic rhinitis, atophy, and many other respiratory diseases.

I guess it is thanks to environmental problems. As people hardly breathe clean air, their nose function got weakened. In order to strengthen its function, I realized we need to live on a simple life as we used to in the past.

Dr. Lee's Sinus School provides a program where you stay in an eco-village, located in Goheung.
Goheung is called "an art gallery without a roof," with its picturesque scenery. While you stay in
eco-community in the duration of your treatment, you will have meals for vegetarians. You will taste yummy Korean foods everyday! Actually, main Korean dishes are all vegetables. If you want to, you can learn some Korean food recipe from our chef!

This is a handi craft workshop. We have a carpenter in the village.
He builds Korean traditional house, called Hanok and makes
furniture for us.

This is an eco toilet, where you don't use water.
You will know what I mean if you visit there. = )

Doctors Participated in the Sinus Program

When you become a member of Cosoom Networks, you will learn
my ent method (treating rhinitis without a surgery). Not only OMDs but phamarcists, doctors,
alternative medicine therapists come and learn LWMs.

Self- Care Remedies for Your Nasal Problems (Sinusitis, Rhinitis, Congestion)

Development of Self-Care Remedies for Sinusitis

It has been 20 year since I began my practice specializing in nasal disorders. For my patients, I introduced self-care remedies after they receive treatment. This is simple but very effective in treating your nose. I recommend this method for those who visit my blog, if you suffer from chronic sinusitis.

The first one is nasal irrigation. Among rhinitis and sinusitis patients, there were many patients who effectively manage their condition by flushing their nasal cavity, yielding better results than medications. This, however, requires persistence practices.

Nasal Irrigation

It is recommended for patients who suffer from nasal congestion and post nasal drip. Just as washing your face or brushing your teeth, it cleanses your mucous membrane of the nose. So we could say, this is tantamount to "washing the nose," in a tactful way. Practicing this, it helps clearing the nasal passages that was blocked with mucus, which caused difficulty breathing or swallowing into the backside of the throat. Along with mucus, other micro-organisms, fungus, dust and other irritants can be washed away at the same time, preventing the nasal condition from worsening and maintain in good condition.

Three Methods of Nasal Irrigation

There are many ways to do this. However, the most cost-effective and easiest will be introduced here. Firstly, stand over a sink.

Prepare a cup of salt water at lukewarm temperature.

Pouring plain cold water into the nose can cause stingy sensation. It is similar as swimming pool water get into your nose. But lukewarm water that replicates mucus' natural salinity does not irritate the nasal mucosa as much. Once you get adjusted, the salinity level may not matter much.

While you are standing in front of the sink, pour warm salt water into one side of the nose. Alternate the side, while pinching the other side to close.

Try the salt water pour into your nose to come out through your mouth.

You could, however, adjust the amount of water pouring into your nose to drain out of your other nostril, instead of your mouth. As you gain experience, you may be able to pass the water into the mouth more easily. You should spit the water out in your mouth.

Repeat the procedure several times.

Here is another method.

Hold a mouthful of salt water in your mouth.

Tilt your head forward, so that your forehead is positioned lower than the mouth.

Block one side of the nose and make a, "mmmm" sound, inducing the water in the mouth to run through the nasal passages.

Continuing the sound moves the water to follow the resonance, exiting trough the mouth. This can be done in seconds without wetting your face once you get used to it.

The last method requires a bulb syringe that you can purchase from a pharmacy.

Fill a syringe with warm salt water.

Tilt your head so that one nostril is pointed down toward the sink and insert the tip of the syringe into your nose.

Gently squeeze the syringe.

The salt water goes into the nose and drains out the same way and exits to the sink. Occasionally, some portion of the water passes through the other side of the nose. Any water that goes to the back of the throat should be spit out.

Repeat on the other side in the same way.

Hopefully these methods will help you treat your nasal problems. I feel environment is connected to a human body. Where you live is closely connected to your health, thinking and way of living. If you love the nature around you then you will receive love from them. The increasing number of patients who suffer from nasal problems has a lot to do with environmental pollution.

Spring Has Come to Our Eco-Village! (Sinus School by Dr. Lee Woo Jeong)

Spring Has Come to Our Eco-Village!

Hello, buddies. Spring has come to our village. Everybody's busy planting seeds.
Let me give you a special guided tour to our eco-villlage.

We are digging the ground in order to plant some trees. They are fruit trees so that we can eat when they grow up!

In a yellow handcart, you can smell beautiful scent of natural fertilizer.

Kids in the village also help planting trees.

And they are baby soybean sprouts! Their leaves are heart shaped.

Here is a lists of seeds we are going to plant in our garden. They are going to be cabbages, pumpkins, crown daisies, chicories, celeries and so on. Hmm....yummy~~~

To the patients visiting my clinic, I recommend vegetarian diet. Many of patiens have nasal problems due to their weak immune system. Thus, strengthening one's immune system help heal their sinusitis, rhinitis, sleep apnea or many other nasal problems. In order to strengthen your immune system, the best and simpe way to do at home is to change your way of life style. Come back to vegetarian diet and brown rice. Brown rice is really good to your body.

Introducing the Seon Eco Village

Introducing the seonae Village

Today let me start my post by introducing the seonae village where I live.
Are you  ready?
Yeah~~~!!!

Seonae Village – the village where people love human beings, nature and Heaven

The Seonae Village is the eco-community under cultivation by those wanting to heal their minds. At present, there are currently 12 eco villages around the world, with the oldest eco village being in South Korea:   Gidaeri Seonaeville.

The meaning of Seonae Village is a village that loves “Seon”.

The shape of Chinese character, Seon, signifies the co-existence of human beings and mountains; here the mountain signifies nature, the Universe and, furthermore, everything. We can say Seon is the condition where humans, nature and Heaven communicate and are harmonized with each other.

Consequently, we can define Seonae Village as the village where people love human beings, nature and Heaven.

Eco Village Life: My Eco-Village - Seonae Ville

It's been almost 5 years since I came to Goheung, which is at the South end of Korea. I never left my home town Seoul before I came here. Seoul is the biggest city in Korea, full of sky scrapers, cars and people. In the center of Seoul, I used to run a big oriental medicine clinic center. It was doing well.

A 20 year of experience as a doctor gave me a considerable fame and money. Does it sound snobbish? Yeah, I know but let me finish my story first. At the time I moved to Goheung, the Seonae ville, I planned to open several branches in Seoul. Yet, some questions came across my mind. Why do I need more clinics? For money or fame? As I was pondering on this issue, one of my close friends from meditation center called me if I had a thought to live in an eco-village that he was building at that time. I thought it was absurd. Me? Living in an eco-village? I never thought of living in such type of village away from city. My occupation, family, clinic and all networkings are in Seoul. If I have to leave the city, that means I have to lose everything I collected throughout my entire life!

Anyway, I moved to Goheung. Now I live in the Seon village. Today I am going to give you a brief tour guide to the community.

Seonae Eco-village

Welcome to Seon Eco-Village!

This is a soap making factory in the village.
All ingredients are organic.

Soaps made in village are sold in the market. They are famous amongst women
who are interested in their skin care!

Believe it or not, in the village we have a school. This picture was taken
when they went on a trip to Laos, Vietnam and Thailand as a means of learning
different cultures!

This is my favourite place in the village. It's handi craft workshop by carpenter Seo
Here he creates different types of furniture for villagers.

And this I proudly introduce.....our eco-toilet. You do not use water.
After you finish your work (you know what I mean?), put some sawdust onto the toilet.
Then it will become great fertilizer in a year!

Once a week, village people work together! Today we collected wood for stoves that
will heat the houses.
