Neck or Shoulder Pain Have Something to Do with Paranasal Sinuses

Hello, I am a country doctor, Lee Woojeong.

Some suffer from chronic neck or shoulder pain but cannot find the right answer, then please
check our if you habe sinus problems.

Neck or Shoulder Pain Have Something to Do with Paranasal Sinuses

Q. Does having a thick neck or having a shoulder pain have anything to do with the paranasal sinuses?

A. There are people who have thick neck. According to statistics, snorers tend to have thicker necks than most people. There is also study suggesting clear difference in the level of cholesterol and blood sugar between the people with different neck thickness.

Thick neck does not necessarily depend on weight gain. The skin on the neck does not have much fatty layer as in the abdomen area, but rather it consists of a thin layer of skin. Therefore, its unique feature does not allow you to store fat. In the neck, functional tissues, such as the ones who responsible for immune system: the lymph gland, tonsil and the ones responsible for secretion: hormone secreting thyroid, the parotid and submaxillary gland. Those are secreting tissues, similar to the nasal mucosa. In unfavorable environment, those secreting tissues swell up and carry out their functions. If this prolongs, the neck thickens gradually.

If you feel your neck has thickened over time, this could indicate your head is not clear. Treatments to vitalize the functions of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, which functions as the anti-overheating device for the brain, refreshes the head and enhances the blood circulation to the secreting tissues responsible for the immune system, in turn, overall improvement made to these tissues slim the neck down.

Observing hypertension patients, they tend to have thick flesh in the central part of their necks. They suffer from neck and shoulder stiffness and feel dull pain in the areas constantly, and over time those become hard and thick. Until the paranasal sinuses treatment came along, I employed cupping therapy. It relieved the tension but there was a rebound after several days.

But when the paranasal sinuses are restored to normal, especially the sphenoid sinuses that is located at the farthest backside, the stiffness in the neck goes away without treating the neck itself. Through clinical experience, many patients have experienced their flesh in the back of the neck reduced in size.

Many find the cause of the stiffness in the neck from having a wrong posture, but this new finding of obstructed sphenoid sinuses causing the stiffness open the new perspectives to assure direct and effective treatment.

environmental problems and rhinitis, sinusitis and many other nasal problems

environmental problems and rhinitis, sinusitis and many other nasal problems

It's been almost 5 years since I came to eco-village, leaving my metropolitan life in Seoul.
At that time, I was running a big clininc in the center of  Seoul.
Received some fame as a doctor who treats nasal problems well and my method
to heal rhinitis was introduced an innovative one in the oriental medicine field.
I was thinking of opening several other clinics through my fame and method.
Then an enlightenment came that I have to share the method for others who suffer from
breathing problems without expecting anything.

By chance, my friends were building eco-village and asked me if I could join them.
When asked, I regarded the comment as if it were nothing to do with me.
Yet, as time goes by, that message came to me more strongly than ever!
Besides, I knew rhinitis, sinusitis or many other nasal problems had a lot to do with
environmental problems and I needed to show my patients that they need to change
their life style as well in order to treat the problem.

For a couple of months I was in agony, because it was not that easy as it seems to decide
to start a brand new life in a countryside, away from Seoul. The village was at the end of
Korea, Goheung.

5 years from now, I live in Goheung.
I became a countryside doctor.
Half of my paitients are farmers in their 70s or 80s.
They call me "baby."

When I had to treat old people all the time five years ago, I felt restless.
I realized I am not that special.
In terms of treating nasal problems, I might be a doctor with a bit of fame, yet
in terms of other diseases, I knew I didn't have enough treating experience.

Life in a countryside made me humble.
Life in nature made me how to thank everyday.

Thank you!

Dr. Lee's Sinus School: Environmental Pollution and Sinus Problems

Dr. Lee's Sinus School:
Environmental Pollution and Sinus Problems

"changing the physical constitution is the key."

Intakes of Brown Rice & Vegetarian Diet Will Improve Your
Physical Constitution

Hello. Are you having fun while working this week? Hope you do. = )

Today I would like to share my lesson on the correlation between environmental pollution and sinus problems. While treating my patients, I recognize the sinus problems such as allergic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis have a lot to do with environmental pollution. Amongst my patients, those who live in metropolitan cities such as Seoul, New York, Tokyo, Beijing or London and so on come to my clinic due to allergic rhinitis.

When rhinitis is associated with hypersensitive reaction, it is called, allergic rhinitis. Although it is treatable with pricking therapy on the nasal cavity, the disorder is a systematic disease. Accordingly, good nutrition plays a major role in improving physical constitution and cleaning the blood, hence it is worthwhile to reiterate the importance of meals consist of brown rice and vegetarian dishes.

Allergic diseases mostly arise from endocrine disruptor, an allergy causing substance which acts as an antigen, absolved by food intakes.

Among the other types of hard to treat rhinitis, why allergic rhinitis is much harder to treat? Both are characteristically similar, having inflamed mucous membranes in the nasal cavity. However, there are few fundamental differences.

Rhinitis is caused by infection causing airborne pathogens; they infiltrate into the nasal mucosa, inducing inflammation. However, allergic rhinitis is an antigen-antibody reaction; latent inflammation factors in the bloodstream break out when the outer condition is favorable, provoking instant inflammation. In other words, the cause of rhinitis lies outside the body, whereas the cause of allergic rhinitis can be found inside the body.

Drug therapy alone, no matter how much efforts were put into, found to be inadequate. A piece of wisdom I gained from treating and researching many years is rather simple, "changing the physical constitution is the key."

"changing the physical constitution is the key."

changing the physical constitution equates to changing the source of supply. This can be further translated into changing the blood by changing its source. Simply stating, it is changing the blood that contains allergic rhinitis causing constituents with the blood that is free from them. "Changing the blood, changes the physical constitution," is the simple summary.

This is to be continued.

Snoring can be cured through blood pricking therapy (Dr. Lee's Special)

Treating Rhinitis and Sinusitis: Surgery is Not the Answer

The most common nasal and sinus related disorders are rhinitis and sinusitis.
Those are ailments of the nose, which is centrally located on the face. Having the disorders, then, could be translated as the center of your life is disrupted.

Surely, those would not cause much concern, if they are healed properly. However, the problem lies in their intractability. A common cold can trigger the symptoms to recur and surgical operation might not be ideal, as it does not ensure complete protection from colds.

On Rhinitis

Rhinitis means inflammation of the mucous membrane inside the nose. Depending on the symptoms, rhinitis categorized into acute rhinitis, chronic rhinitis, hypertrophic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, allergic rhinitis.

Acute rhinitis may accompany the symptoms of bodily discomfort, slight fever, chills, muscle aches, loss of appetite, and headaches.

People may feel the burning sensation in the nasal cavity and rhinopharynx that stimulates the nerves of the nasal cavity to induce a fit of sneezing. After the phase, nasal discharge and inflammation of the nasal mucosa cause nasal congestion. Without having secondary infection, the nasal cavity returns to normal within 6 to 10 days. In the absence of proper treatment, there could be complications, including sinusitis, otitis media, bronchitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, lymphadenitis, and pneumonia.

The most common symptoms of chronic rhinitis include nasal congestion. Often, the nose gets congested one at a time, however, both sides may get congested in severe cases, induce mouth breathing. If this continues, chronic rhinitis is diagnosed.

Treating Rhinitis- Blood-pricking Therapy on the Nasal Cavity

Sinus cold includes the symptoms of inflamed nasal mucosa causing nasal congestion with extra secretion as big as the membrane inflamed. As a broken faucet, nasal discharge continues. The inflamed membrane becomes susceptible to the slightest stimulation, inducing sneezing. The color of the discharge changes from clear to yellow, indicating the progress of the severity of rhinitis. When the body's immune system runs at its optimal level, resting a few days restores the nose to its normal level and the body aches from a cold will go away. In other cases, the symptoms prolong and the nasal conditions would worsen.

Considering the circumstances, taking a few days of rest and get healed by itself would be the most desirable outcome. Irrespective of using oriental or western medicine, enjoying the desired recovery without discomfort is also ideal.

Prolonged inflammation undermines elasticity of the membranes, which in turn, leads to delay in recovery. Accordingly, acupuncture is recommended for both acute and chronic rhinitis. Even in an improving condition, using medications in conjunction with acupuncture further benefits to ensure complete healing.

In both types of rhinitis, blood-pricking therapy is the fastest way to reduce the swelling and the only fundamental approach to resolve blood stasis caused by repeated infections of the nasal mucous membranes. This applies to other tissues as well; it provides an effective relief to where affected by repeated infections and frequent overuse.
With utmost confidence, this is an extraordinary therapy which effectively restores the ventilation of the nasal passages and strengthens the nasal mucosa.
